Nancy Green, FASAE, CAE is vice president for the Washington, D.C. office of Vetted Solutions, an executive search firm specializing in serving the leadership needs of associations, nonprofit organizations, hospitality and destination marketing industries nationwide.
Green brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience, a CEO skill set, and a proven track record for growing successful organizations to the talented Vetted team. Throughout her tenure in education and healthcare organizations, Ms. Green has made a career-long commitment to building effective board relationships, managing staff transitions, launching strategic partnerships, and raising the profile and professionalism of the organizations with which she works. She also advises organizations on talent development, building strong and successful staff structures and cultures, and succession planning.
Ms. Green has successfully led organizations in the role of chief executive, most recently as interim executive director for the American Industrial Hygiene Association. (AIHA) For nearly 10 years, she served as executive director for the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), and in senior leadership roles in five other membership organizations prior to that. These include the American Occupational Therapy Association, Fund to Promote Awareness of Occupational Therapy, The Center for Association Leadership, the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, and the American Society of Association Executives.
In multiple settings, Green has both led and managed critical program areas, including governance, meetings and education, marketing and communications, and finance and operations. In her leadership roles, she represented her organizations to a wide variety of national and state organizations, corporations, the media and policy makers, building strong and lasting relationships along the way. She has worked with staff and members to enhance the association’s effectiveness in advocating for, and addressing the needs of members and various publics throughout her career.
Ms. Green has earned the respect of her peers for her thoughtful contributions to the body of knowledge in association management, particularly as it relates to executive success. She writes and speaks on strategic leadership, succession planning, performance evaluation, and governance topics. With deep roots in the association field, Ms. Green has built a strong network of leaders in every sector. She enjoys contributing her expertise and experience to further the profession of association management through her affiliation with the American Society of Association Executives, where she was named a Fellow, and also serves on several key committees and task forces.
Ms. Green currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband.
