The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) seeks a proven leader – with the energy, experience, and passion to continue to advance the organization.

NSPE, established in 1934 and located in Alexandria, Virginia is the only national organization committed to addressing the professional concerns of licensed Professional Engineer’s (PE’s) across all disciplines. They were established with one goal in mind, to create an inclusive, nontechnical organization dedicated to the interests of licensed PE’s, regardless of practice area.

The new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors and will be stepping into an already focused and aligned institution. S/he will need to demonstrate the skills necessary to carry out the strategic plan, lead a team of 30, build effective relationships across NSPE’s multi-tiered professional society of volunteers and members, and to plan and manage an annual budget in excess of $7M.

Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree with a post graduate degree being desirable. S/he will also have been successful at the senior-level of an association or have had nonprofit management experience with oversight of multifunctional departments required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. A Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation is preferred.

The American Peanut Council (APC) needs a dynamic, talented leader – a strategic thinker capable of taking APC to a new era of value and relevance to an expanding array of people around the world.

The Council represents the interests of the entire peanut industry chain, including growers, shellers, brokers and food manufacturers. But its directors have ambitious and challenging goals for the future, with a new President/CEO working closely with them to build off APC’s 80-year history to launch an exciting new era of growth and development. The ideal candidate will be an agent of transformation as APC enters a new and demanding post-Covid world. The President/CEO will manage the association and guide APC toward the organizational structure, location and operational focus appropriate to achieve its greatest impact. The multi-faceted job will include continued development of products, services and events valued by members, continued membership growth and expansion across diverse stakeholder groups, aggressive market development on both a national and international level, and effective representation of APC and its interests.

Strong managerial skills, an enthusiasm for travel and inter-personal contact, and exceptional personal communication skills are essential for the job. A high-energy, out-going personality is essential, with a proven capacity to connect positively with a diverse range of people, from the farm field to the Congressional committee room. International perspective and multi-cultural awareness also are needed.
