Headquartered in Silver Spring, MD, the American Nurses Enterprise is comprised of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation). In addition, ANA is parent to the American Academy of Nursing as well as the ANA Service Corporation, a for-profit entity currently inactive.

The ANA seeks a strategic, innovative, bold and dynamic nurse executive to serve as the next Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). This is an exciting opportunity to be a leader in supporting and advocating for more than 5 million nurses across the nation.

This role involves collaborating with the CEO, governing bodies (e.g., ANA, ANCC, ANF boards) and state associations, as well as building strategic relationships with nurse leaders nationwide. The CNO will provide oversight for ANCC’s credentialing and support programs and ensures the autonomy and impartiality of the ANCC Commission on Board Certification.  This individual will also serve as a strategic partner to the Policy & Government Affairs team to ensure aligned policy development
