Garland combines a journalist’s curiosity with decades of front-line experience with leaders in the global food and agriculture sector. He continues to write and speak publicly on a range of policy, economic and trade issues touching on virtually every segment of the modern food chain.

His resume shows a range of public affairs posts and consulting relationships with major names in the food industry, including a lengthy career as vice president for Cargill, Incorporated. His client roster includes other prominent names not just in the food sector but also the life sciences, financial and transportation sectors. In these roles, he has lived in Washington. D.C., New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit and London.

Garland has worked with Vetted Solutions since its earliest days applying the insights into leadership gained over a lifetime to help his colleagues recognize the truly superior candidates for demanding executive positions.

He is a graduate of Wake Forest University and has done graduate studies in news-editorial journalism at the University of Missouri. He also is a veteran of the U.S. Army and an honors graduate of the Defense Information School.
